CODE VEIN received great accolades from Press across Europe and we are proud to share the best ones with this special video.

In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment.
At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein.
This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.
Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity.

  1. I've been waiting for any vampire action game to come along for over a decade since Legacy of Kain faded into obscurity. I don't care about the comparisons to Dark Souls, I just want this bloody action romp to satisfy me. Especially after Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was crap.

  2. just like daaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkkkk sssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuulllllllllllllllllllllllllsssssssssss

  3. Maybe I'm just missing something but wasn't this pretty much all just reworked old footage? I mean, I guess the quotes and the (oddly out of place) music was new.

Either way, I feel so conflicted about this game. I want to be excited for it as it's a Shift developed action RPG, but the fact that it uses the "Souls" gameplay is just a huge turn off for me. I'll probably still get it, begrudgingly, just because I want to support Shift.

Not to mention the reception so far has been absolutely terrible. People have been so fixated on calling this "Anime Souls", "Weeb Souls", "Waifu Souls", and so on based on just the visual style alone. Combined with the aforementioned "Souls" comparisons, it's clear no one is giving it any kind of chance. I'm expecting this to not sell that well, might even bomb.

  4. Only a few new scenes, the rest was just footage we've already seen. Lame.

Well, except for the music. XD Who does this song?

  5. lol nothing about this game is unique, generic edgy anime look characters covered in leather and belts in a post apocalyptic world that reminds me of old devil may cry games, with dark souls game play. itll probably be fun, but its not unique in any sense

  6. I don't think this is going to be good for people that like Dark Souls, more like folk that thought Tokyo Ghoul was cool. I'll pass on it. shame.

  7. An amusing thought crossed my mind as I read part of the synopsis in the description:

“In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment.”

What are the odds this has a Seraph of the End/Owari no Seraph element and it turns out humanity was responsible for provoking this Apocalypse as a sign of judgment passed on them by deliberately engaging in something taboo-labeled they knew should never be done under any circumstances and now everyone and everything else on the planet is paying the price for their defiant missteps?

There’s already a similarity with Seraph of the End/Owari no Seraph here. The vampires in Seraph convert into demons if they are starved of blood for too long. In Code Vein, it’s explained those monsters the vampire-like characters are fighting used to be like them until the starvation of blood forced them to transform.

  8. I'm excited for this, while also waiting on more news of God Eater 3. Can't wait

I hope there are scythes, God Eater had scythes so maybe I shouldn't be worried but… well… I love pulling off the grim reaper type characters
