I’m feeling overwhelmed by the volume of makeup products launching daily (let me know on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/lisaeldridgemakeup/ if you are feeling it too!) and just wanted to create an everyday look using mainly ‘old faithful’ products. x

I can’t guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will suit you. I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on myself and my clients but everyone’s skin is different and it’s possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.
I only feature products I like, or want to try. The products I use in these videos are either purchased by me or sent to me by make-up companies to use in my professional capacity as a make-up artist for fashion and celebrity photo shoots, red carpet etc. I am also sent products by many of the top magazines to judge for awards.
I do not accept payment and am not sponsored to make any of the films on this channel. Some of the links under the videos and blog posts on my site are affiliated however and as stated before, I only feature products I like, or want to try.

  1. The idea of not buying makeup for a year or so has been on my mind for a few months. There are a few YouTube videos on this topic but this one is the best in terms of tips – of course, by the master like Lisa.  Please do some more of this with different looks. 🙂

  2. Ah I love you Lisa for this reason. So down to earth, smart and caring, and obviously so talented! Thank you for bringing up consumerism issue!!! ??

  3. Totally agree Lisa. We are all overwhelmed. We have enough to suffice what we need. I had products for Xmas and the packaging was uneccessary, we all have to think of this and the impact it is having….. Ps…. not to mention the after eight mints packaging!!! ?

  4. Thank you I'm on a no buy for this whole year (can buy replacements of course I.e. Mascara) it's so refreshing to hear same mindsets from such a huge influence x

  5. Hello Lisa ! Thank you for reminding me that I also own this wonderful Chanel Palette . It must take some courage for someone in your position at Lancome to pass on this message …and I respect you even more for that ! Now I have to look into all my make up and revisit my past favourites . THANK YOU bisous Sylvie

  6. I totally agree with this! I got a bit 'over' the churn sometime last year and have used the same face of makeup nearly every day…. when I see how long it actually takes to get through a single product, even when used exclusively, I literally don't think I could get through everything I currently own in an entire lifetime let alone keeping with the pace I was buying stuff. It's making me want to really cut down and just stick with my old faithfuls. xx

  7. Yes!! To not having to but all these new launches we have more makeup brands ever in history and it should not make us feel we need to be collectors or hoarders to put together a great face.

  8. Hi Lisa: You look stunning! I especially love this video, because you've brought out a point that I have felt for a very long time. How many new products and palettes does one really need?! It seems like a daily dose of overkill. Too much consumerism is not, necessarily, a good thing! I love your videos, soothing voice and techniques. You are the consummate professional. Thank you so much! ❤? 🙂 Rosemarie

  9. Haha, you are so cute! I have a drawer of makeup which is quite a lot for a consumer so I threw away anything that was old and made a pact to not buy anything I don't actually need for 1 year. I feel much better about it.

  10. Such a refreshing concept Lisa! I'm about to do 'no buy' February and March to cut back on my beauty spending so this was perfectly timed x

  11. Thank you , Lisa. With constant usage of social media especially instagram and youtube..I was getting a bit extravagant on my makeup splurge. Though i don't overdo yet i know i was buying things which i have in some other brand. After looking at this video I realised its not important to buy new launches. Your old makeup can work wonders if you already love it .. Thank you. ❤️

  12. I love this because I too have been feeling a little overwhelmed by all the new stuff out there and while i was watching a video on new makeup, it dawned on me that I was getting wrapped up in the new new new ….. when I have plenty of makeup already. So instead of focusing on all the new stuff I like the look of, I've decided to re-discover all the things I love that I already have but might not have used in a while.

  13. Love love it Lisa. Recently improve my consumption. We don't need to buy every time new things to keep our routines. It's just waste of money and time

  14. This video is great I bought everything I need at the beginning of December and won’t be buying anything for a while. I noticed stuff I had got in October and used once!. Time to use everything, great advice as always.

  15. I love this! I recently had a massive declutter and literally own next-to-nothing. It's the most cathartic thing I could have done, but I still find myself tempted by new beauty products and launches. I had to remind myself that there is a reason I only kept a few makeup items – because I love them! What's the point of spending money on things just because they're shiny and new, when I already have products I know will work for me? Great video x
